Vivint and ADT, two security companies with summer sales programs, are starting to experience the effects of a new player in the security market: Novi.

Compared to the systems of Vivint and ADT, Novi has created a device that is a motion detector, siren, camera and a smoke detector. A complete service all packed into a portable device. Novi also charges a flat rate for its product compared to the traditional model of billing customers for monthly monitoring and installation fees.

“Companies like Vivint and ADT are really focused on blending home automation and security,” said Tyler Crawford, Novi’s CEO, in a news article. “We are the lowest common denominator in a good way. It’s what you really care about. If someone breaks in or if your house is on fire. We cover those two things cheaper and better than anybody else.”
